With two weeks left in the season (three for NFLers, and for some fantasy owners in awful configurations) you’re either in the thick of things and making crucial decisions or you’re working toward a face-saving consolation victory. Either way, our ranks are designed to help you make the right start/sit choices with your lineups. As always, injuries have caused some issues for owners and there are new stars lurking in the wings, particularly as team’s begin to turn their focus toward 2015. All of that is factored in to the ranks below:

Week 15 NFL Ranks

  • I was too harsh on Big Ben last week, and rank him as a starter in a matchup against a Falcons D that is league average against QBs and has allowed five of the last seven passers who have faced them to throw for multiple TDs. That’s a feat that Ben has accomplished just twice on the road, so, I have my reservations despite a strong Week 14 showing and that is reflected in the rankings. He’s a back-end QB1.
    • I couldn’t be paid to start Colin Kaepernick against a Seahawks D that has allowed just 1 QB since Week 7 to top 100 yards. But, you didn’t need my ranks to tell you that it was not a good matchup…
  • I have Latavius Murray ranked as a top-12 RB and for me its an easy formula. The team warned that they may ease him in last week… and then they gave him 25 touches. Murray is the most talented back on the roster, and the only one of interest for 2015 so he should see plenty of work this week against a Chiefs defense that is giving up more than 5.0 YPC to opposing RBs this season. Murray has a great shot to top 100 yards and while backs have not been getting into the endzone against Kansas City, Murray himself did it twice two weeks ago.
  • I really like the Jags passing matchup against Baltimore this week. Blake Bortles hasn’t exactly been setting yardage records to be sure, but, he is distributing the ball to his top targets. Lee has been the lead dog since the injury to Allen Robinson and he’ll draw a very generous Ravens D this week in a game where Jacksonville is likely to have to pass due to a) the score and b) the injury to Denard Robinson (I wouldn’t want Toby Gerhart carrying it 15 times…)
  • I know we said this last week and he played 0 snaps despite being active, but you can’t sit Julius Thomas if he’s in the game. Watch his status, but the Broncos passing game has missed him these last two weeks and they know it.
